One of the books I have used for inspiration for my current WIP is the lovely book Hattie Big Sky by Kirby Larson.
Selected in 2007 as a Newbery Honor Book , Hattie Big Sky, chronicles Hattie’s attempt to prove up her late uncles homestead claim in Montana. It is both inspiring and heartbreaking. I watched and waited patiently (or at least I tried) for the promised sequel to be released. When the sequel Hattie Ever After was announced to be released in February, I was eager to read it.
Imagine my surprise when my best friend and blog buddy Sarah presented me with an autographed copy of the sequel! It’s an understatement to say I was thrilled.
Sarah had won an signed copy on a blog giveaway. After explaining to Ms. Larson that I was also an author of historical fiction and how much I enjoyed the first book, she asked if she could sign the book for me.
Best Gift Ever!
I have the best friend ever!
P.S. I’ll share my Book Thoughts on Hattie Ever After in my next post.
