Well the New Year is upon us and rather than spending the past month writing I spent it making Christmas gifts for the family. I couldn’t post pictures of these before the holidays because my family reads this blog and I didn’t want to spoil the surprise.
Here are a few of the gifts I made this year to share with family and friends:
The Tiny Book
These are some little books I made for my author friends. I used the art for the covers of some of their books and created little keychains. For those who had not published books, but had written articles I created little copies of the magazine for them. These were a huge hit, and were very difficult to make.
I made these cute crayon moster bags from an old pair of jeans and some felt. I attached a string to make it fit like a backpack and included a large pad of paper. My nephew loved is monster bag and carried it everywhere.
Once again, I used old jeans to create these fun gifts. I was very pleased with how these turned out. I got my inspiration from looking at a small owl change purse at the store. I created my own pattern and added a small beaded chain to the gift card holders to be used again to hold small coins or an I.D, my nieces loved these.
So now that the holidays are over, it’s time to get back into the swing of things. My writing goal is to finish my current W.I.P. and begin sending it out to agents by March of this year. I am hoping the pressure of putting it into writing will help me meet my goal. I’ll let you know how I do.
